*She dwelt long in Lórien, tending the trees that flower in the gardens of Irmo. Nightingales sang about her wherever she went. Among all of Lórien's people there were none more beautiful than her, nor more wise, nor more skilled in songs of enchantment.
*Left Valinor and came to Middle-earth during the Ages of Starlight.
*Afterwards the Queen of King Thingol in Doriath which was protected by an invisible barrier of a powerful spell, called the Girdle of Melian.
*She was the foremother of Lúthien, and to Elros and Elrond.
